The ten spacious en-suite cabins with rich timber panelling and hand-made kauri furniture are all fitted with DVD, Audio, and TV and are individually air-conditioned, most with doors opening to the outer teak deck. We take pride that our cabins are the largest for a ship of this type. Itinerary Day 1 - Sunday Late afternoon departure from Auckland. Sail by Rangitoto & Browns Island en route to Waiheke Island where we anchor for the night. Day 2 - Monday A day on Waiheke visiting an art gallery, a vineyard, an olive estate & lunch at a second winery, followed by a helicopter flight across the island to rejoin the boat, now off Pakatoa Island (optional excursion). This afternoon continue on to the Coromandel Peninsula & on to Great Barrier Island. Day 3 - Tuesday Wake up to the beauty of Great Barrier. A day to laze on board, swim, kayak, snorkel or walk along the shoreline. There is also an included tour of Great Barrier Island scheduled for today.. Day 4 - Wednesday Perhaps an early morning swim before further exploring Great Barrier Island. Several optional activities ashore are available today. Fishing in also good of the Barrier & you may wish to supplement tonight's dinner with some fresh caught fish. Spend tonight, once again in Port Fitzroy. Day 5 – Thursday This morning leave Great Barrier and set course for KawauIsland, passing by Little Barrier Island, an important rare bird sanctuary with restricted access. After lunch enjoy an optional scenic flight over the Kawau-Kaipara region. The Island Escape with be moored in Mansion House Bay in Bon Accord Harbour. The Mansion House was built by Governor Sir George Grey in the 19th century & has now been restored to its former grandeur and they grounds are an ideal place to take an evening stroll. Grey released a number of exotic birds & mammals on the Island of which the most notable today are kookaburras & wallabies. An early tin mine is also near the Mansion House. Day 6 - Friday Early morning departure from Kawau for a leisuely cruise back to Auckland, passing islands such as the bird sanctuary Tiritiri Matangi, & the small scattering of islands known as the Noisies - orginally name Les Noisettes by French navigator Dumont D'Urville, who thought they looked like a scattering of nuts over the sparkling seas. We have an expected arrival time in Auckland of 12 noon.
